Abstract

This article deals with Student Assistance offered at the Federal Institute of Sergipe
(IFS). Student Assistance in the federal public education system is based on the
PNAES. The Student Assistance Policy (PAE) of the aforementioned Institute is
implemented through the Student Assistance and Monitoring Program of the Federal
Institute of Sergipe (PRAAE/IFS). The objective of this article is to present the structure
of PRAAE as a student assistance program, its importance and constitution, seeking to
contribute to readers' reflection regarding a right legally guaranteed to all students
regularly enrolled in the IFS, through universal and/or of specific actions. For this
article, the methodology used is bibliographical research, through consultation in
legislation related to IFS Student Assistance, as well as in books that supported and
allowed correlations with the theme in question.

José Franco de Azevedo, INSTITUTO FEDERA DE SERGIPE

Bacharel em Ciências Econômicas pela Universidade Federal de Sergipe (1992), Licenciado em Administração pela Universidade
Tecnológica Federal do Paraná (2000), Especialista em Administração Rural pela Universidade Federal de Lavras/MG (2003), Licenciado
em Matemática pela Universidade Tiradentes (2005), Mestre em Agroecossistemas pela Universidade Federal de Sergipe (2006) e Doutor
em Geografia pela Universidade Federal de Sergipe (2015). Atualmente é servidor Docente do Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e
Tecnologia de Sergipe, Diretor Geral do Campus Socorro. Tem experiência na área de Administração e Economia Rural, atuando
principalmente nos seguintes temas: economia solidária, agroecologia, agricultura familiar. No Mestrado do ProfEPT atua nas disciplinas
de Gestão e Memória na Educação Profissional e Tecnológica e Educação de Jovens e Adultos.
