Abstract

In this article, I interrogate the role of Human Sciences in reading novels in High School courses Integrated with Professional Education in Brazil, more specifically at IFBA. This study integrates the preliminary results of my doctoral research, of a qualitative nature, with descriptive and comprehensive purposes, carried out at the University of Montpellier, in France. Data collection includes interviews with Portuguese language teachers (11) and students (10) from three IFBA campuses. The results question the importance of the integrated curriculum and the possible consequences of implementing the 2017 secondary education reform in this context.
