In every form of communication between subjects, it is possible to notice the use of politeness strategies as a way of harmonizing social relations. In this sense, this work aims to reflect on the social interactions present in virtual platforms, verifying the politeness strategies used in conversations between teacher and student. To this end, we carried out a theoretical research on politeness strategies and, in addition to the theoretical research, we present an analysis of selected conversations between teacher and students through virtual platforms. In view of this, the results of this research showed that the interaction between teacher and student happens, most of the time, mediated by some of the politeness strategies, aiming to protect the face, both of the speaker and of the interlocutor.
